Students streamed into Anne Chesnutt Middle School on Wednesday morning as Cumberland County’s three year-round schools started their new year.

“They’re excited,” said head custodian William McCain as he greeted students and parents at the car drop-off area.

Anticipation was apparent. The students carried new backpacks and lunch bags, as well as plastic bags of tissue boxes and sanitary wipes.
