Fighter Pilot by Alyssa HousdenCongratulations to Alyssa Housden and her sponsor, Ms. Hessier for placing 2nd in the intermediate category of the statewide NCDOT 2017 Aviation Art Contest. Alyssa’s entree will be forwarded to Washington D.C. to be judged at the national competition later this year. She will also be awarded an art supply gift certificate and a cash award.

Circle K Check Picture A Big Hornet Buzz to Circle K for its donation of $1,000.00 to ACMS as part of the “Fueling our Schools” fundraising program. The “Fueling our Schools’ Program allows Circle K donates 10 cents for every gallon of fuel purchased on the fundraising night. We again thank Circle K and all of those in the community who supported this event. So, please keep the Buzz alive as the next “Fueling our Schools” event will happen on March 7th at the Circle K on 2001 Skibo Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28314. More details to come.

Are you a Dad of a Great Student? BECOME A WATCH D.O.G. WATCH D.O.G.S. is a male initiative supported by the National PTA to increase male mentorship in grades K-12.

Who are Watch D.O.G.S.?
Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrator.

A picture of a international disco globeAnne Chestnutt Middle School would like to invite the friends and family of our students and faculty, as well as any other member of the public to celebrate this Christmas season with us by attending our Winter Concert on Friday, December 9, 2016. The event will be hosted by our Cultural Arts department featuring live presentations and displays from our Chinese, Spanish, and Arabic classes. Also there will be live performances from our school band, chorus, and orchestra with a special performance from our Chinese department. This event will begin promptly at 6:00 pm inside the school gym. We strongly recommend all who plan to attend to arrive early enough to avoid any parking or seating concerns.

ACMS Sports Physicals

On Friday, August 5, 2016, at 3:00 p.m., Anne Chesnutt Middle School will offer sports physicals to students in Cumberland County. The cost is $20.00 cash only. Students must complete the physical form with parent/guardian signature prior to arrival. (Examination forms are available online at www.athletics.ccs.k12.nc.us or from your school’s athletic office.)

Students streamed into Anne Chesnutt Middle School on Wednesday morning as Cumberland County’s three year-round schools started their new year.

“They’re excited,” said head custodian William McCain as he greeted students and parents at the car drop-off area.

Anticipation was apparent. The students carried new backpacks and lunch bags, as well as plastic bags of tissue boxes and sanitary wipes.
