World Language Traveling HornetOn behalf of the Teachers of Critical Languages Program (TCLP), we are helping them conduct a survey about our Arabic teacher and program here at ACMS.  This year, our school was awarded the opportunity to host a TCLP Arabic exchange teacher, and as part of our program monitoring and evaluation, we invite you to answer some survey questions about your (or your child’s) experience studying Arabic with the exchange teacher. Your input would be very valuable in helping with this program at ACMS

This survey is anonymous, and no identifying information will be shared with teachers, schools, or anyone outside of program staff. It does not collect student names or contact details, and personal information will be kept strictly confidential. If you can assist us by completing this survey, we kindly ask that you submit it by Monday, January 7, 2019.

The survey is available online at the following location: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SSArabic2018-19

Thank you for your support!

ACMS honored our military families with a breakfast for students, parents and staff members who are currently serving or have served in the US Military. November is National Military Family Appreciation Month and ACMS values the service of our military and their families to our country! Ms. Alex Williams, our chorus teacher at ACMS, sang the National Anthem and was followed by two eighth grade students who sang a patriotic duet for all guests. Breakfast followed the entertainment as we concluded this special month dedicated to our military families! It’s our way of saying thanks to the members of the military and the families who serve our country with them!

On Saturday, November 17, 2018, Anne Chesnutt Middle School hosted their first Robotics competition with the help of North Carolina A & T University Engineering Department.  At this First Lego League (FLL) Competition, the school hosted 16 schools from surrounding areas. The Anne Chesnutt Middle School Techno-Hive competed in the competition as well.

First Lego League (FLL) and North Carolina A &T engineering expose students to real-world engineering by challenging them to build Lego-based robots to complete tasks. Students must be able to explain their design and core values.
