I would like to start off by welcoming you to the 2019-2020 school year. My name is Phyllis N. Jackson and I am proud to be the principal at Anne Chesnutt. I am very passionate about education and look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality middle school experience. Our theme this year is “Get Your Head in the Game.”

I believe that great schools are the result of a great staff. My primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher at ACMS.  The faculty and staff of Anne Chesnutt Year-Round Middle School will provide a rigorous academic program, enriching extracurricular activities and high expectations for all. Technology opportunities will be integrated into lessons whenever possible to enhance our 21st Century learning style and global connections.

Anne Chesnutt provides multiple choices at the middle school level for our community. Our school operates on a Year-Round calendar schedule. The school year begins in July and students and staff have intercessions after each nine weeks grading period.  Another opportunity for our students is the continuation of the CCS Language Immersion Program. Students have the choice to continue with the CCS Spanish Immersion program at the middle school level on our campus that they began in elementary school. We also offer additional language opportunities for our students to learn beginning Chinese and Arabic while understanding the culture from visiting international teachers. Our Robotics Choice program is focused on aeronautical engineering and coding with classes geared for our middle school-aged students. The goal is to prepare our students to continue on this technology path in high school. These specific opportunities are available through the CCS Choice Programs by an application process. Please check the ACMS web page or CCS web page for additional information on applying to our school for these particular program choices.

The structure of our school is based on the true Middle School concept of teaming teachers and students in order to cultivate strong relationships and consistency in expectations.  Talents and skills among staff members have been identified to create leadership throughout the building to ensure that our students are constantly learning in a supportive environment.

Remember, we are the Best school with the Best faculty and staff.  Good, Better, Best!!! Never let it rest, until your good gets better and your better gets best!

CCS Vision Statement: “Every student will have equitable access to engaging learning that prepares them to be Collaborative, Competitive, and Successful in our global world.”
