Administration

Greetings Parents/Guardians,

The upcoming 2020-2021 school year brings all of the excitement of new beginnings, new experiences, new opportunities, and a new way to learn and grow. The enthusiasm and wonder of children reminds us that each child starts school with tremendous hopefulness and anticipation for their very best year. Every teacher, staff member, parent, and administrator plays an important role in making this year a great one for each of our Hornets.

Anne Chesnutt Middle School is committed to providing a rigorous, nurturing, and inspiring educational program for all of our students. We are excited about our new journey of being a Face to Face – Virtual Public School in the Cumberland County School District. We will begin the school year virtually and remain virtual until it is safe to return to Face to Face instruction. When the State determines we are able to return Face to Face we will do so in the safest way possible following all expected guidelines. Due to our Year-Round schedule, ACMS can not return during a nine-week period that we may be in until it concludes and we complete our intersession break. We will continue to communicate any changes through the ACMS website and by sending ConnectEd calls. We are excited and eager to see the limitless possibilities of our efforts in providing your child(ren) with an extraordinary school experience. It is our goal that each student realizes his or her potential through our challenging academic programs. In addition, we want each child to develop the skills that matter most – the ability to think and learn across disciplines, connect ideas, to engage in effective communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.

The ACMS Staff and I know how lucky we are to have so many wonderful students and families working alongside us and look forward to partnering with you this year. On behalf of all our teachers, I would like to extend to all of our students and their parents a very warm welcome.  We are very excited about the 2020-2021 school year and look forward to helping your child succeed. The first day of school (virtually) for students is Thursday, July 9, 2020 Students should be logged in to their homerooms by 8:30 am.

Sincerely,

Phyllis N. Jackson
Principal of Anne Chesnutt Middle School
